Description:Autism Society of Colorado introduces a FREE TWO DAY (February 13 & 20, 2010) TRAINING PROGRAM that includes follow-up support in caring for children with autism and other related disorders. The purpose of the Competent Care for Challenging Children Program is to train licensed and new, in-home childcare professionals to provide competent care for children with challenging behavior. This training focuses on: fundamentals of autism and related disorders, behavior strategies, communication challenges, sensory concerns, building rapport with children and families, health/nutrition/safety factors, building on strengths, and social skill difficulties. *First priority is given to licensed in-home and future childcare providers.*
