Description & SkillsManages all aspects of daily operation of Child Care Center including assuring compliance with Child Care Licensing Regulations and Head Start Performance Standards, developing and evaluating Center goals and standards, managing staff, managing Center budget, and marketing the Center in the community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Assures program compliance with all Child Care Licensing regulations and Head Start Performance Standards. • Continually evaluates Center program outcomes and plans and implements enhancements as indicated. • Works with administrative team to facilitate development of program components which will address the developmental, cognitive, physical and safety needs of children enrolled in the program. • Collaborates and cooperates with Early Head Start/Head Start Administrative Staff to ensure compliance with all Head Start Performance Standards. QUALIFICATIONS • Current Director qualified status according to the Colorado Department of Human Services • Ability to speak a foreign language such as Spanish is helpful. • Ability to remain calm and to calm others in an emergency, stressful and/or confrontational situation. • Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population. • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base. • Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff through application of Agency values. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from accredited college or university with a major emphasis in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or Early Childhood Special Education including specific course work as outlined in child Care Licensing Regulation and three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
