Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to enhance your practice and engage your youngest learners. 9:30am-11:00am: Moving Beyond Big and Little: Math Language for Toddlers “I’m not good at math,” is a phrase we often hear from colleagues and friends. Join us for this face-to-face interactive 1.5-hour training to learn how to embrace math language in the toddler classroom and explore ways to incorporate math throughout your program. Participants will explore how books and literacy are essential tools for encouraging math language in the classroom. It’s never too early to start encouraging the next generation of mathematicians and learn how to be mathematicians ourselves 11:15am-12:45pm: The Language of Science for Infants and Toddlers You don’t need to wear a white lab coat to be a scientist. For infants and toddlers, science is a part of their natural curiosity and exploration. In this 1.5 hour interactive and hands-on training, you will engage with materials that encourage and promote natural exploration and scientific discovery. You will learn strategic ways to engage infants and toddlers in science and key methods for incorporating scientific language in your program or classroom. Come prepared to push your current understandings of science and young children and learn ways to encourage the next generation of scientists. Cost: $25 per person per training OR $40 for both trainings. Snacks provided. Does this meet CO Shines or Licensing Requirements? These trainings provide 1.5- or 3-hours of training in Teaching Practice toward the annual requirement of 15 hours of ongoing training per Licensing. Registration closes April 25 at 5pm. Please register prior to this date.
