Description:Rhombus, triangle, circle…oh my! Supporting young children with recognition of shapes is a key experience in the preschool years. Describing and manipulating those shapes is another pivotal experience for young children. In this face-to-face 3.25-hour training, teachers of 3-5 year olds will learn concrete ways they can engage their students in discovering shapes and digging deeper into supporting connections with their own “shape” and spatial awareness. In this hands-on and interactive training, participants will work in small groups to identify activities and strategies they can utilize in the classroom, brainstorm math vocabulary, and discover ways to engage families in making shapes and space a concrete and meaningful experience for young children. Being “square” never looked so good! Does this meet CO Shines or Licensing Requirements? This is an approved training by the Colorado Department of Education. It provides 3.25 hours of training in Program Planning and Development toward the annual requirement of 15 hours of ongoing training per Licensing. Cost: $40/person. Snacks provided. If you have questions, please call 303-339-6822 or email Registration closes Tuesday June 13 at 5pm. Please register prior to this date.
