Application requirementsQUALIFICATIONS
Shall be at least 18 years of age and must be Assistant Teacher qualified as defined by one of the following below as stated by the Colorado Office of Early Childhood Education.

1. At least one year (1820 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of 4 or more unrelated children under 6 years of age along with completion of one (1) Early Childhood Education course and currently be enrolled in the second (2nd).
2. Completion of two (2) Early Childhood Education courses and no experience.
3. Current Early Childhood Professional Level I Credential as determined by the Colorado Department of Education.

Shall have certifications in standard First Aid and Adult/Pediatric CPR, Universal Precautions, FEMA Disaster, Shaken Baby/Abusive Head Trauma and Child Abuse Identification/Reporting. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds in connection with the handling of children for program facilitation, child safety and potential emergency situations.

REQUIREMENTS
Shall evidence an interest in and a knowledge of children and concern for their proper care and well-being and be free from any disability which will adversely impact job performance and free of any evidence present or past of personal conduct which may be injurious to children. A minimum of 15 clock hours of verified continuing education must be completed annually. Any applicant shall have a personal background check before being hired and may be subject to any subsequent checks during the term of employment. Able to keep energy level, enthusiasm and pride high.
Description & SkillsDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES
• Participate honestly and fully in all efforts to maintain Social Services licensure.
• Assist in planning and implementing classroom curriculum in accordance with the mission, policies and philosophy of GE under the direction of the Early Childhood Teacher.
• Check in with Early Childhood Teacher and find out schedule of events for the day.
• Assist Early Childhood teacher in checking in children, get nametags on and directing children to center play.
• Interact in a respectful and positive manner with children.
• Assist Early Childhood Teacher in supervising children during chapel/music.
• Encourage cooperation and play between children; interact with the children.
• Assist children with personal hygiene; toileting and hand washing.
• Assist Early Childhood Teacher with diapering.
• Assist children with transitional activities.
• Help serve snack and assist children with lunch.
• Clean and sanitize tables, chairs and diaper changing areas after use.
• Other assignments as given by the Early Childhood Teacher, Assistant Director or Director
