Description & SkillsCatholic Charities is looking for a part-time Early Head Start Prenatal Home Visitor to join our team in Denver, CO.

Plans, schedules and implements home visits with EHS Prenatal families to assist them in preparing for the birth of their child. Provides opportunities for socialization and education in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES •Implements program objectives as directed by supervisor/ management
•Fulfills requirements set forth by the Head Start Performance Standards
•Monitors and assesses client progress towards identified goals.
•Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with Catholic Charities programs, as well as outside community based organizations.
•Assists in implementing outreach/marketing strategies to prospective clients and community overall.
•Plans curriculum and facilitates support/educational groups for clients.
•Demonstrates skills and sensitivity to the cultural/linguistic differences of staff, clients and community.
•Supports, promotes and adheres to Catholic Charities’ vision, mission, values and Code of Ethics.
•Reflects Catholic Charities’ commitment to treating all persons with dignity and respect.
•Plans and develops with the pre-natal families an individualized program for their family, through establishing a caring professional relationship and a climate of mutual trust and respect.
•Works with pre-natal mothers to strengthen their knowledge of child development and required prenatal topics.
•Works with pre-natal families to strengthen their knowledge of pre-natal health and nutrition, by integrating health and nutrition education into the program, coordinating with other staff and parents health screenings for family members and providing information and referrals, if necessary.
•Assists pre-natal families in strengthening their knowledge of community resources and supports parents in developing problem solving skills.
•Prepares and submits internal and external reports and documentation in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, guidelines and operating standards.
•Provides crisis intervention including, but not limited to, child abuse reporting.
•Participates in required training programs, workshops, and meetings including home visitation methods, first aid/CPR, universal precautions, food safety, and other topics relating to the pre-natal care and education.
•Maintains confidentiality of client and agency information.
•Regular and predictable attendance.
•Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.

•Must be knowledgeable of all Head Start Program Performance Standards.
•Participates in the Continuous Quality Improvement and Accreditation processes.
•Participates effectively as a team member through communication, cooperation, information sharing and problem solving.
•Participates in staff trainings and programs as required.
•Any other tasks or duties as assigned.

•Basic knowledge of pre- and post-natal care required
•Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, including speaking, listening, reading and writing.
•Demonstrated strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
•Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and other employees.
•Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
•Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.

Minimum of a Home Visiting CDA (AA degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related human service field preferred) and at least 1 year related experience working with families and infants/young children required, pre-natal experience preferred.

Important Notes:
This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 9am to 1pm. Hours may change based on meetings & families.
Candidate must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
